Nokia's Windows Phone 7 concept revealed

After we heard of Nokia and Microsoft mutual agreement a few weeks back, Nokia had come out with a concept phone with Microsoft Windows 7 mobile install on the phone. The color is very catchy. Probably targeting the teenagers market.

All of us know that even Nokia didn't come with high-end hardware like some other high-end hardware in the market now, this phone will fits the needs of the community out there.

Now you able to place widget on your 5800XM homescreen. There's a lot of ways to do it actually. But the simplest way to do is to install Widgetizer..

You can download here.

RENAME .sis TO .zip and extract to get files.

Install the theme and widgetizer(must be signed).

Open widgetizer and add required shortcuts.
Arrange them to get a good homescreen.

HP TouchPad vs. iPad vs. Xoom vs. PlayBook

Starting year of 2011, will be the year of the tablet. Where all company are battling out to produce the best table money can buy. This tablet actually become a fashion statement, so the best design might win compare to hardware specs.

The price will also be very competitive, and it might benefit us, the consumers, where companies will fight to give the best price, so they can gain the market share. Below are some tablet rival took from ENGADGET. I prefer the XOOM for it's functionality and also preloaded with Honeycomb!

At last, the webOS-empowered TouchPad, HP's answer to the growing tablet market. And make no mistake, it's coming in with guns blazing -- specs-wise, the slate stands up pretty well to the competition currently in play (e.g. iPad) and the other up-and-comers not quite out the gate (e.g. Motorola Xoom andBlackBerry PlayBook). Stacked side-by-side, it's clear Apple's entry is lacking a bit in both memory (256MB vs. 1GB for everyone else) and front-facing camera -- not that we expect that to be the case forall of 2011. When it all comes down to it, what'll set these slates apart will be the platforms and software themselves -- should make for an interesting summer, no? Nokia 5800XM Internal Browser Issue

I notice that 5800XM built-in browser seems better then those opera mini or some other browser out there. Maybe it's me but I still using the built-in browser. Here are some useful tip that are useful to make this built-in browser good as new..

here seems some bugs on the Nokia in-built browser to browse large sites and advanced flash based sites. Please try loading small sites.

Solution
--------
1. Close all applications running in the background.
2. Delete the contents of C:\System\cache.
3. Delete the contents of C:\System\dmgr.
4. Delete the contents of C:\System\temp.

Avoidance
---------
1. Large and slow loading sites.
2. Full flash based websites.
3. Flash based games sites.

Why?
- Because, we're using smartphones and not a personal computer, the device built in browser has liitations and dont expect it to deliver what you always do on the personal computer.

Garmin : Malaysia/Singapore Maps update

New maps available on www.malfreemap.com or you can always download here or here.

Download, extract and copy to e:\Garmin\gmapsupp.img

Garmin Map file for malaysia& Singapore is name as gmapsupp.img..just copy paste in e:\Garmin\ folder..Garmin software will detect the map from that path..

Dont forget to disable U-Turn function to get better route calculation.

Proper Nokia PC Suite, NSU and Maps Loader Pre-Installation

The very proper way to install Nokia stuffs without error is .. use PC Suite Cleaner to remove old Nokia stuffs completely and manually DELETE the entire Nokia folder in C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files\Common Files and also C:\Documents and Settings\Your PC Username\Application Data\Nokia (If have installed previously). Then restart computer.
1. Install Nokia PC Suite (make sure u have handy usbser.sys, usbser_lowerflt.sys and usbser_lowerfltj.sys)2. Connect phone when asked, and the installer will install all necessary stuffs including MTP Device Support.
3. Install Nokia Software Updater.
4. Install Nokia Maps Loader.
5. Download Nokia USB Support Files http://www.2shared.com/file/12048525/7e6c4...port_Files.html

Restart the computer immediately once done, dont continue ure other works ..

Additional tips to save system resources, remove all NOKIA related startups using CCleaner (be familiar with it, this is a very good system advisor stuff)

You can always START and STOP the servicelayer.exe (the only needed stuff for Nokia apps to work n detect the phone), make sure you START the service before launching Nokia applications such as PC Suite, OVI or even NSU.

Another upgrade for Nokia 5800XM..v52 ftw!

It's been a while since I update my blog. But anyhow, for anyone that haven't update their 5800 to the latest firmware version, this will be the good time. Below are the change log for v52 firmware

- Upgrade CPU performance Enhanced touch screen – Very fast
- Improve wifi, connection error OVI
- Rotate Enhanced
- Software Map New!
- V52 pictures and movies better!
- No NokiaEmail
- Interface does not change!

You can upgrade using FOTA or using NSU (that will take longer time compare to FOTA).

To upgrade, type *#0000#>>choose Options>>Check for Updates..and let the phone do the rest.!
